Naučno dokazano da (muzička) piraterija nije problem.

Why are you still stealing Game of Thrones?

Why are you still stealing Game of Thrones? Is it that you don't have a cable subscription, and so can't enjoy the return to Westeros on Foxtel? Maybe you don't subscribe because you have some ideological or moral objection to fattening Rupert Murdoch's wallet.

That's cool.

I can dig that.

So why are you still stealing Game of Thrones? I know you like to call it 'torrenting', cos that sounds a bit sci-fi and hard core. But you're taking something that cost millions of dollars to make. Something that called on the talents of hundreds of people with very specialised skill sets. You're taking it and refusing to pay for it.

Presumably you'd like to see Season Four, now that it's been confirmed, right? After all, you went to the trouble of stealing seasons one through three.

Is there some sort of internet freetard math I'm unaware of that lets the producers of GoT spend millions of actual dollars making the show while you suck it down off the intertubes for free because somehow the 'exposure' will put enough money in their bank accounts to pay for all the writers and actors and camera guys and set designers and costume makers and caterers and editors and special effects dudes and CGI mavens and musicians and lighting and sound techs and drivers and so on whatever and ever amen?

There is, surely, some business model where the millions of people who paid to see Game of Thrones get to watch another series despite you stealing it because you can't be arsed paying for something you actually enjoy?

Sure, if you don't want to or can't subscribe to cable, you might have to wait to buy the DVD or download it from Apple or Amazon or Google Play. If you're cool with the fruit company, in one of those delicious ironies, you can even get a season pass right here and now, watching each episode shortly after it airs. Why the irony? Because that's a service not available on the US iTunes store.

So remind me again why you're stealing Game of Thrones?

Is it just because you can?

Because I'm wondering, did it ever occur to you that maybe if you can't afford to have it now, you should probably wait until you can?

I'd like to have a new retina Macbook, for instance. But when I went to the Apple Store and tried to walk out through the front door without paying for it, waving off the protests of the blue shirted store Nazis because, "It's OK, I'm just torrenting it," that didn't work out so well for me.

Tomorrow, when I check out of my hotel here in Hanoi, having enjoyed four days of extreme luxury, I suppose I might try telling the front desk that I just torrented all the martinis and the cheese buffet, so I don't have to pay for it, but I think I'll just make sure there's enough space on my credit card anyway, to cover any bill. You know, just in case.

But please, by all means, feel free to steal the rest of this season of Game of Thrones. After all, it's not like it's Stargate Universe or anything ... which got torrented out of existence.

(Moj odgovor: nemrem da platim  )

Pirate Bay moves to Greenland ahead of possible Swedish domain seizure

The world’s largest file-sharing website Pirate Bay has changed its Web domain to Greenland’s ‘.gl’ after allegations that Sweden may soon seize the page’s ‘.se’ extension.
The Pirate Bay switched to a new domain name overnight, with the measure set to become permanent. It will redirect the site’s guests to the new homepage automatically. Users who were blocked in the past now have another chance to visit The Pirate Bay, as the website is set to be operating from fresh IP addresses.
The Swedish authorities’ alleged threats are in fact based on a real case last year, when the p2ptv.se domain was seized over illegal livestreams of hockey and football games.
The measure may be most frustrating for copyright holders and Internet security forces that battled the file-sharing website over the past year, removing over 870,000 urls from Google and attempting to keep the page’s content blocked.
The domain change is not the first measure The Pirate Bay took to escape prosecution this past year.
In February, the Swedish Pirate Party handed over hosting of The Pirate Bay to sister parties in Norway and Spain after the country’s copyright lobby sent a letter threatening criminal charges. In early 2012, the site switched from the ‘.org’ to ‘.se’ extension to stay outside the reach of US authorities.

jel vam stigao ovaj mejl od, nadam se, demonoida, sa ove adrese admin@d2-gatekeeper.net?

Dear Demonoid Community Member,

We have all read the same news stories: The Demonoid servers shut down and seized in
the Ukraine. The Demonoid admin team detained in Mexico. The demonoid.me domain
snatched and put up for sale. The Demonoid trackers back online in Hong Kong, but
then disappearing.

We all wanted to believe that Demonoid would be resurrected once again; but it seems
that these events have spelled the end of Demonoid as we have always known it. We
all waited to see if Demonoid would return, though its now clear that this time its
really gone.

Now for some good news: The heart and soul of Demonoid lives on!

Through an amazing sequence of unlikely events, the data on those Ukrainian servers
has made its way into the safe hands of members of our community and has now been
re-launched as d2.vu

Invitations to return are being sent out only to existing Demonoid members, which is
the reason you have received this email. For the foreseeable future d2.vu will
remain a semi-private site and no new invitations to join will be issued until we
are certain that the system is stable. To login, click here and authenticate using
your old Demonoid username and password.

Demonoid may be gone, but the community lives on at d2! Welcome home!

Sincerely,

admin
